The Internet is a wealth of information but not all of it may be accurate or easily found.  Below are four sites that I think may be helpful in searching out information

• HealthyChildren.org

  This site,  http://www.healthychildren.org/, is sponsored by pediatricians and provides  a wealth of information.  It is searchable in several ways including by symptoms.  There is even an “Ask a pediatrician” section.  You can also sign up for monthly newsletter.

• StLouisChildrens.org

  The St. Louis Children’s site, http://www.stlouischildrens.org/ , connects you to one of the two main children’s hospitals in the area.  It also is searchable by symptoms as well as provides a list of local activities and health fairs.

• CardinalGlennon.com

  Cardinal Glennon sponsors Kid’s Health, www.cardinalglennon.com/kidshealth ,  that is not  only searchable but provides information directed towards kids and teens as well as parents.

• American Academy of Pediatrics

  The American Academy of Pediatrics—a nationwide organization of pediatricians that Dr Rudloff belongs as a full fellow—provides a site with a number of references, handouts and other resources.  It can be found at http://www.aap.org/ .

• 454 - Kids - A Service of St. Louis Children's Hospital

  St. Louis Children’s Hospital also sponsors a toll free as well as free service for parents who want  to call in and ask questions about their child whether it be well child  questions or concerns related to illnesses.  This line is staffed by pediatric nurses specially trained to answer your questions.

• Dr. Rudloff's After Hours Exchange

  For over a decade, Dr Allen and most of the pediatricians in the Washington area have utilized St. Louis Children’s Hospital Nurse Triage Line to assist patients in their after hour needs and questions that cannot wait until the next business day.  Although now in solo practice, Dr Rudloff shares call with the other pediatricians on staff at St. John’s Mercy Hospital.  St. Louis Children’s  provides a service where pediatric nurses under the guidance of a pediatric board follow proven protocols to answer your questions and  help keep your child safe.  Dr. Rudloff pays for this service on a fee for each call so please use it only when really needed.  Dr. Rudloff's After Hours Office Exchange is 1-888-896-5109
